Franklin Multicultural Festival
31 March 2008, Pukekohe, Auckland.
Franklin Multicultural Festival was celebrated on 30 March 2008 with various sports and multi-cultural music and dances. New Zealand Nepal Society contributed by presenting two Nepali dances. Swarnima Subedi (daughter of NZNS member Sweta/Subarna Subedi) and Salina Dhungel (daughter of NZNS member Priyangu/Suman Dhungel), and Astha Kattel (daughter of NZNS member Roshani Shrestha/Giriraj Kattel) and Nigya Pokhrel (daughter of NZNS member Bimala/Indra Pokhrel) performed the dances.

Jim Stafford-Bush, Principal, Puni School, who was responsible for the cultural
festival, wrote that :
“I just wanted to thank the NZ Nepal Society for their performance at our
Cultural festival ........Your young ladies looked so beautiful and danced
amazingly. We were truly privileged to be entertained in such a professional
manner.
Thanks so much once again for your wonderful support”.
There were various dances including Chinese, Samoan, Haka, Indian, Punjabi and
others.
